4.0 out of 5 stars.  Eyes for Cat Eye Vectra, October 19, 2008
By Dashir (Sacramento, CA)
Just recently purchased and began using this computer. I found it pretty easy to set up and install on my bike. Being wireless is a real bonus--no wires running everywhere that need to be zip-tied to the frame. Inexpensive and does exactly what I need it to do. Downsides? If you're looking for a computer to keep track of cadence, this isn't it. Also, it will take some getting used to determing which mode I'm in since the little tiny letters that tell you which is which is, well, tiny. I need reading glasses and don't plan on wearing them when I cycle.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice Product: rock solid!, September 21, 2010
By David H. Israel (Macon, Georgia)
This is at least my fifteenth cyclocomputer. It is everything that is promised. It can be installed on either the stem or the handlebar; I chose the stem. The receiver installs easily on the upper fork. Setting the tire size and circumference was straight forward and easy. The Cateye design team has made a winner. There are others that have more bells and whistles, but none offer the simplicity, style and reliability of the Cateye Models. There are others that are cheaper; but, they never last as long and they need constant adjustment. I don't need a cardiac rate, or a cadence, or K calories; I can figure that on my own. I get odometer, trip mileage, time of day, and max speed. Really, I don't want more. I have had more functions but they are for the toy boys. This is a solid buy. Total install time: 12 minutes (I have done this before)

3.0 out of 5 stars.  What's my time?, August 26, 2008
By Shotgun Willy (Tennessee)
I can't believe they actually make a cyclocomputer that doesn't have elapsed time. Distance and time are the most important things. Anyway, set up was easy and it works great but without "time" it's almost useless. So if you need "time" get the MC100W MICRO WIRELESS like I did,I is really good cylocomputer. The VECTRA is only good for a trainer.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Good performance but too limited feature offer, May 9, 2011
By rstm
The Vectra wireless works fine but is too simple. It does not offer average speed measurement and chronometer for the lap or journey. Those are simple functions.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Jam Job, February 13, 2011
By -- Larry Rand (Banning, CA)
I bought this easy-to-install and not so easy-to-read wireless computer despite its bare bones features; I'm a tourist and not training for the Olympics. What I didn't expect is how easily it jammed up. Sweat and grit got into the slides holding it to the mount almost immediately, making it very difficult to wrestle off the bike. Salt built up in the mode switch, too, which jammed it -- and since the unit is hard to get off the bike, I wound up breaking the mount (a year in, to be fair) in my perpetual battle to separate the computer from the bike so I could fiddle with the jammed mode switch. I expected better engineering than this from Cateye. Surely their engineers realize that the position of a computer guarantees that it will get perspired on --and in our dry Southwestern climate, the sweat dries out almost immediately. Once I get a replacement mount, I'll put some grease on the slides and see if I have better luck unmounting the unit. I can't figure out what to do about the jamming mode switch beyond frequent washing. I didn't have these problems with other computers I've owned; the Vectra has been a disappointing purchase.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Good Entry Level Cyclecomputer, January 12, 2009
By Presidential Student (Sacramento, CA)
This unit was easy to install and program. Wireless makes for a clean look. Functions don't include average speed which is actually a good thing for a winter single speed bike where getting there in one piece is a bigger priority.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Cat Eye Vecrta Wireless, June 24, 2011
By Adam Bunger (SACRAMENTO, CA, US)
Not super happy with this. It was fine for the first 1000 miles or so, but now I'm starting to have issues with the receiver not registering the magnet and I have to fiddle around with it 8 times out of ten to get it to start working before a ride. The receiver seems to really dislike when the bike rides in my roofrack. I've had to reset the unit more than a few times, which isn't a big deal, but it is pretty aggravating when your the squeaky wheel in the group. I've tried changing the batteries which alleviated the problem for a bit, but now it's starting to have issues again. I wouldn't recommend it, and I certainly wouldn't purchase it again.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Bike Computer, September 20, 2010
By Leggs
i really like this computer. I had a cateye before I purchased this one that had so many settings that I could not remember how to use them. I had to keep the instruction book where I could find it at all times just to operate it. This simple cateye is just want I want...it's easy to use and gives me all the information I need for by rides.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Cateye Vetra Wireless, August 24, 2010
By Mike
This is an excellent, but basic, bike computer. It gives you current speed, total miles, trip miles, and current time. The only problem is the mount is really basic, relying on zip ties. Mounting is very easy and I have used the computer for over 100 miles with no problems.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice design. Terrible functionality, March 25, 2010
By award-winning bozo (Phoenixville, PA USA)
I bought this from another site on a liquidation sale, so I bought it strictly on price without paying attention to features.

Boy was I disappointed.

In an age where you can buy a $10 dollar cyclometer from K-Mart that supports two bikes, average speed, trip time, daily odometer and auto-start and stop, it never occurred to me that these features would be missing from a $30 brand-name device like a Cateye.

Unfortunately, the Cateye doesn't have any of these features, which means it is useless for doing any kind of serious training. While the quality of the hardware is good, I simply cannot recommend this to anyone who needs to keep track of how long, how far or how fast they ride.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Cateye Vectra, December 15, 2010
By Thor
The Cateye Vectra is easily installed (about 20 minutes), easily set-up (one set button on back), and provides quick instant feedback for your ride. I am a beginning rider, and so I don't need GPS or a "smart" odometer. Knowing my speed, distance traveled, and average speed is great for me. The numbers are large enough to read, and the low price makes this an easy deal.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Like it for its simplicity, November 1, 2011
By G. O'Connor (San Diego, CA United States)
I like the Cateye Vectra Wireless for its simplicity. There's just one button and 4 functions to worry about. I just don't want to be pushing buttons when I'm riding a bicycle.

I took off a star because the sending unit came off probably when I was going through some brush. I'm still buying another one. I'll put some duct tape around the sending unit in addition to the zip ties.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great for clocking those downhill sprints..., October 2, 2011
By Gauteng (VA, United States)
I found this bicycle computer very easy to install. It comes with all necessary hardware and accommodates a wide variety of bike sizes and hardware. The only precision aspect of the installation involves aligning the magnet and speed sensor and it is not difficult. The wireless capability means no cables trailing around the forks and more simplicity. The computer feels solid and well made and the display is very crisp and legible. The quick release for the display unit is easy to use. The function button is also large and easy to use. I currently ride just for pleasure and fitness so it has all the functions I need - speed, odometer and time (speed and distance are available in miles or kilometers). The battery life seems excellent - mine has been in light use for about two years. Finally the size and legibility of the speed display means that a quick glance is all that is needed when you are going for broke and want to see what you can do. Kudos to Cateye for a sweet product.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  I love this cyclometer!, January 1, 2011
By S. Ball
I bought a Cateye Vectra Wireless last spring for myself, and used it through the biking season. I enjoy it immensely, so I decided to buy one for my daughter's boyfriend when he got into commuting by bicycle. I have never had a cyclometer before. Once you figure out where to mount the two parts, it is simple to use. You can easily remove the readout portion from your handlebars and take it with you if you worry that someone might steal it when you chain your bike somewhere (although it wouldn't do them much good without the sensor, would it?). When you are riding, it is very easy to switch between modes for the different readouts (time, odometer, speed, etc.). I like the fact that you can measure the mileage for your trip, and the total mileage.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Cateye Reliability, August 18, 2010
By I need new stuff. (Buckeye, AZ)
I have had this model for over a year. I have around 350 miles on it now. This doesn't seem like many miles but I have it mounted on a beach cruiser. I bought this because it was the lowest price wireless Cateye available. I have never had a problem with it. The clock tells me when I need to cruise home. The distance tells me how far I rode this time. The odometer tells me how often I need to service the bike.
The clean wireless setup doesn't detract from the simplicity of my cruiser.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Easy install, February 4, 2012
By Wingnusa (USA)
What a great wireless speedometer/odometer. I put it on my wife's bike and she was thrilled with how easy it was to use. I was happy with the easy install and it worked right the first time! Now to get one for my bike...
