MINDY MYLREA: CYCLE CIRCUIT

Mindy Mylrea's Cycle Circuit offers the ultimate in cross training. In one hour you will get a total body workout from head to toe. Mindy warms you up on the bike and then challenges you to a ride with steep inclines, smooth flats, and awesome intervals. Interspersed throughout the ride are strength bouts of Gliding disc exercises which keep your muscles firing from start to finish as well as anchored tubing upper body work that simulates the swim phase of a triathlon. This workout creatively uses the bike while standing next to it and riding on it. You have to experience this workout - it is cross training at its best. Mindy is the 2004 Can Fit Pro International Presenter of the Year, the 1999 International IDEA Fitness Instructor of the Year, a National and World Aerobic Champion, a PowerBar sponsored athlete, and a five star presenter for IDEA. She is an advisory board member, an international presenter, author, motivational speaker, video personality, and CEC provider.

Running time: 60 minutes

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Solid Workout, with some nuances, April 26, 2007

On the whole I think Mindy is a very good instructor. She tends to talk a bit much, but I don't find it too bothersome. The design of the workout is great - just when you can't take any more pedaling, you get off the bike for toning. The tubing work is quite innovative, and you can modify the exercises if you don't have gliding disks. (I didn't see the point in buying them for one workout.) I will admit that it didn't make a whole lot of sense to strength train the quads, hams, and [...] - since that what the bike works primarily - but other than that, I like the total body workout. I'm not particularly sore the next day, but I sweat during the workout, which satisfies me. This workout might be best suited to beginner and intermediate levels. If you want a fun challege, try Mindy's Supercyle!
