5.0 out of 5 stars.  In a word: Indispensable., November 4, 2010
By Tech Chan (Lenoir, NC)
First of all I work at a bike shop; I'm not a home mechanic that has a different day job.

This is fantastic grease, plays well with everything from BB's to integrated brake posts.

Here's the breakdown of grease in my shop:

Metal: Park Tool PPL-2 Polylube 1000 Grease Tub (1 Lb)
Carbon: FSA Bicycle Carbon Installation Compound - 80 gram tub - 192-9050
Bearings: Pedro's Syn Grease Bicycle Grease (3oz/85g Tube with Injector)

If you need to go a little cheap, you can drop Pedro's off that list and just use PPL-2, but if you have Campy or DT-Swiss wheels I would suggest the synthetic for sure. Those bearing clearances are too close for the makeup of PPL-2.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Would not trust anything else, March 17, 2010
By idahorider_920 (Salmon, ID USA)
Park Tools knows how to work on bikes and that is all they know, so why not trust the stuff all shops and professionals use? (Wow that sounds like I'm a shill for Park Tools, I'm not...really!) Better that then going cheap and screwing up your $1000+ mountain bike to save a few bucks. My best friend worked on, rode, ate, and slept bikes and this grease is all he ever used, that's good enough for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  great stuff!, December 22, 2010

Just has a great feel. Can't add anything more scientific or empirical except that in 40 years of working on my bikes, and sometimes bikes of others, this seems the best.

Not to mention that at my current burn rate, I might be compelled to order another lb in, say, 20 years.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Grease is the word., October 22, 2009

Seems like good grease no pitting etc. that I notice so far. Probably made as a marine grease and just packaged different. Color is ok, like the shammano glow stuff too but to expensive. Works well.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  LUBE, December 6, 2010

GOOD STUFF. A POUND IS A HECK OF A LOT IT. GOOD TACKY CONSISTENCY. HOLDS LOOSE BALLS WHILE YOU ASSEMBLE HUBS ETC. LOAD SOME INTO AN EMPTY 3 OZ. TUBE AND INJECT IT WITH A SMALL GREASE GUN THROUGH A HOLE YOU DRILL IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR HUB OR PEDAL. SAVES DISASSEMBLY FOR REPACKING.
I USE A GREASING NEEDLE TO DO IT. FILL THE HOLE WITH A SMALL SCREW AFTER YOU ARE DONE.

YOU CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE THIS PRODUCT MAKES IN THE WAY A HUB RUNS WHEN YOU SPIN A WHEEL.
I USE GRADE 10 BEARINGS A LOT. MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE IN EFFICIENCY! SMOOTH AND PRECISE.
BOCA BEARINGS.
