5 out of 5 stars.  Tons of space!, February 16, 2010
I bike to work and fit my clothes, lunch, laptop and other sundry items into the pack when I pack everything intelligently. Good construction, good size, plenty of storage compartments. I am glad I made this purchase for sure!

5 out of 5 stars.  Perfect bike bag!, November 16, 2009
This bag is awesome. That basically sums it up.

I use this (along with the Topeak Explorer Bike Rack and Topeak Rain Cover for MTX Trunk Bag EXP and DXP) on my daily commute (on my Specialized Sirrus). In it I put my change of clothes, towel, shoes, toiletries, and still have room for other things (lunch, lock, book, headlight, etc.). The thinner top compartment is perfect for a wallet, phone, and other smaller items.

This bag is made of quality material, so I don't foresee any problems with excessive wear and tear. It fits much more than it initially appears to.

The expandable side panniers are big, but not TOO big. I can comfortably fit a pair of shoes in each side, with extra room leftover.

This is by far the best bag and rack I have seen/used. GET IT!

4 out of 5 stars.  Pricey but good quality and design, September 25, 2009
This is well designed trunk bag. I had others from Nashbar and they do not have the expanding panniers like this one but are significantly less expensive. The price value ratio for the MTX is not as good and I would not have purchased if I had not had an Amazon coupon.
I would have preferred the rear pocket to be enclosed, zipper and not mesh. That would make a good place to put spare tube and tools for flats. The sides are stiff so it will look good on the rack. The penalty is a little more weight.

4 out of 5 stars.  Gets the job done!, September 12, 2009
Its the biggest Topeak bag I could find for my Topeak bike rack.
The side panniers really do come in handy when needed. There not as rough and tough as I thought they would be, when you fold them out, but they work and i haven't seen any damage from me stuffing groceries into them.
I've used this bag constantly for over 2 months now and ive seen no wear and tear on it at all.
The extra extension zipper at the top really helps when your bag is filled to the brim.
To get an idea of what you could fit in the bag. I just bought from costco yesterday, 2 bags of bread, 2 Powerbar boxes 24pack (had to get rid of the box and put them individually in the side pannier) and I had some shirts and stuff like my wallet, keys, ipod, cellphone (which i put in the small compartment at the top.) The bread and shirts took up most the room in the main compartment and i had 1 loaf in the side pannier. The power bars were in the other side pannier. I still had a little room left, but that pretty much made the bag full. So the bag can hold everything I need it to hold, but it would be nicer to have a bit more room to buy a little more grociers if I need too. Seems like I can only get 2 to 3 things depending on the size of groceries. The water bottle holder can hold my Swiss Canteen easily, its the largest one they make, so its big enough to hold big water bottles.
Its a good bag, and doesn't look to bulky on the back of your bike at all.

5 out of 5 stars.  Excellent Travel Bag, August 17, 2009
I was a little nervous when I bought this bag that it might not be large enough for my recent week long trip through southern Wisconsin, but it was just right. Other reviews suggested that this bag was appropriate for a few days, but if you're not camping and pack appropriately (light) then this bag is an excellent choice. The side panniers themselves aren't huge, but the large trunk helps to compensate for their size. I used it with the Topeak Explorer rack and was totally satisfied. The system to attach the bag to the rack was excellent and obviously appealed to my travelling companions. I highly recommend this bag.
