A nice, inexpensive solution to organize bikes in the garage, June 26, 2007
By J. Rogers (Sacramento, CA USA)

|
I have several kids, and their bikes were always laying around where they shouldn't be before I bought this stand.
This stand is very lightweight, but is of good quality and holds all sizes of bike just fine. Great value for the price. The only downside is that the stand tends to move a bit when the bike is pushed into it.
If you have more $$$ to spend, I would recommend a stand made of heavier material that won't move as easily. Otherwise, no complaints whatsoever.

Poor design rubs against disk brakes, rear derailleur, gear cluster, August 20, 2009
By Nerd (Phoenix, AZ United States)
|
|
The review title say it all. I was truly surprised that the upright supports make contact with the disk brakes, rear derailleur and gear cluster on our 26" and 29er mountain bikes. Good bike stand designs are elevated off of the floor allowing the tire to sit lower in the stand and the upright triangles flatter to provide clearance so fragile bike parts are not contacted.

works well, July 3, 2007

Only issue is the stand is very light and can be knocked over or moved easily if empty. Bicycles stay put once in place.

really disappointing, July 28, 2010

I just got this product an hour ago and was exciting to try it out but when I assembled it and stuck some bikes on it I realized that it's very poorly designed. There is no way for rear wheels to sit in the supports without the supports contacting portions of the drivetrain. Either the cassette sits on top of the diagonal support or the support falls between the wheel and the rear derailleur, putting pressure on the RD. I wouldn't be surprised if you could accidentally bend or snap the rear derailleur if you jostled a bike on this rack.
I tried bikes with 700c and 27" wheels, no dice with either.
Additionally, the box says you could use it in a truck bed. I wouldn't dare do that unless the truck was up on blocks or something. The tubes are way too thin and would bend with the stresses of driving. Plus the aforementioned drivetrain rubbing would wreck your stuff by the time you arrived.
Don't know what all the positive reviewers for this product are smoking.

OK for garage storage, May 9, 2008
By Ken Bloom

slots should be wider to accomodate rear wheel cogs. Also, need locking washers for screws as they loosen. Product is fine for a garage, but I had hoped to use in truck bed to transport bikes. This didn't work.

holds two adult-size bikes and one child bike, July 8, 2009
By software engineer (NJ, USA)
|
|
Box arrived wrapped in brown paper. Nothing was missing inside and all pieces were wrapped in plastic sleeves. Easy to assemble. One of the brackets could not fit into the holes in the frame. I was able to find a pair of holes that was a tad wider then the rest to fit this bracket. When the stand is placed near a wall it can hold two adult-size bikes in the left and right positions and a child bike in the center position. It cannot hold three adult-size bikes because the handlebars overlap. I did not place the rear wheel in the stand to avoid damage to the gears.
The stand can hold a mountain bike with disc brakes with a tiny clearance around the brake disc.

Gets the job done, July 17, 2008
By S. Violette (Presque Isle ME.)

This bike rack is great for our 2 large mountain bikes. The stand is heavy-duty enough to hold our bikes (some seemed so light they would tumble over) and can be put together in 10 minutes. Read about some that wouldn't accomodate the larger wheels and the swagman is plenty big. I have a weeride seat on the front of my bike so I needed to put all three stands on to have enough room. Glad we bought this and not a stand with only two slots, we have enough room for our bikes and will later have space to hold our daughter's bike.

Only for bikes with no disks or rear derailleur, February 13, 2011
By Richard Lewington (Fremont, CA)
|
|
The uprights are far too tall, so they hit the expensive bits of any modern mountain bike - disc brakes and rear mechanisms are all at risk. I like the modular nature of the design, but it's just not safe for garage use, let alone in a truck bed.
The uprights are also far too far apart to hold road bikes well, but that's apparent from the product description, so that's just a warning.

Exactly what I was looking for, June 2, 2010
By Joseph Paddock (California)

I bought two of these hoping to organize the garage. I was surprised initially at the small size of the box when it arrived but after about 15 minutes I had both assembled and was impressed with the product. They are light and easy to disassemble if needed. I take them on our camping trips to the lake and the mountains. It is a great way to keep the annoying sight of piled up bicycles out of your camp sites. I plan on purchasing one for my parent's home also.

great stand for the price, April 5, 2010

It was easy to put together and fits all three of my kids bikes so they're not piled in a heap on the garage floor. What's not to like about that?

Too light..., January 17, 2010
By Coach (Colorado Rockies)
|

It seems well made, and serves the purpose, but even a slight tilting of a bike seems to torque the whole stand and actually move it around the garage. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. It's a moderately good rack.

GREAT BUY!!!, October 30, 2009
By C. Mueller

Works just as I hoped! I purchased it for children's bikes and they fit perfectly. It's not too heavy that you can't move it around, but heavy enough to hold all three bikes (or less). Good construction, very sturdy. I am very pleased with this purchase!

Garage Organization, July 8, 2009
By Steven Paul Jacobs

This works perfectly and the description was right on. It isn't the biggest or bulkiest stand out there, but it is very effective for what I wanted to do. We have little boys and the stand can hold one adult mountain bike and two bikes for 7-9 year olds. It keeps them upright and stationary, which is a big plus. We were looking at $200+ bike stands and I'm very happy we chose this stand. I even like the lighter weight of it, as we have to move it to get into our garage closets.

Easy to assemble and very light weight. Im not sure what the metal clip is for but our bikes fit cozy now. If you're keeping the bikes outdoors get the bike covers too.

A little disappointed, October 17, 2011
By shari8418

I was a little disappointed with the sturdiness and weight of this product. It is incredibly light and kind of shaky. We are using it for smaller bikes, so it works OK. You get what you pay for, it was a great price and is serving our need, I just doubt it will make it through the year.

Good for little bikes and for the price, September 28, 2011
By M. Stone (Ohio)
|

This is a good stand for kids bikes, especially those with no kickstands. It's not a super sturdy or heavy unit, so it slides around a little when the bikes go in, but not to the point of being a big problem. It is strong enough to hold up the bikes without issue, despite it's lightweight construction. It does indeed work best with the back tire and this does indeed put some pressure on the gears and/or spokes of the bike, so I would not recommend it with an expensive bike. It's also hard to get bikes immediately next to each other - pretty crowded.
For the price though, this is very effective and compact. I put two units together into one long 6-bike rack and it works very well.

Good enough., April 21, 2011
By Randall Dixon

It's not the most amazing bike stand. it's not pretty or really even that tough. It does, however, work.
it holds 3 of my bikes very well; the metal supports that hold the front hub seem flimsy, but it holds my 40 lbs motorized bike and hasnt bent yet.
my only problem is that its so light it slides all over the place while moving the bikes around. no big deal.

Great bike rack!, April 20, 2011
By Andrea
|
|
We ordered three of these racks and connected them to make one 9-bike rack. It works great for our family of 7. We have it on grass and it doesn't move. One of our bikes has to be parked backward because it's too wide to fit in the other way, but that is no big deal. Our son that rides that bike likes it that he just hops on his bike and goes!

Just what I was looking for, February 27, 2011

I ordered this to keep our boys' bikes from falling over in the garage and hitting my car! It was very easy to put together and took me less than 10 minutes. It seems sturdy although it's lightweight. This was the only product I could find to accommodate three bikes and would be easy for kids to take their bikes in & out.

Solid portable bike stand, November 13, 2010
By online media nerd (brooklyn)
|
|
I was looking at the larger outdoor style racks for a while. They are usually over $200 and hefty. The weight is great for larger bikes (we have 4 large bikes to store) but they seem pricey and impractical for moving. We order this model for an 1/8 of that price and it certainly does the trick. If you want something stronger, strap it to a piece of plywood. Good buy.

Eliminated garage clutter, September 12, 2009
By Jaspertrix (New Albany, Ohio)

Easy to assemble. Works well for all the kids bikes that either don't have kickstands or they are so bad the bike won't stay up. Got rid of the pile of bikes so I can reach my tools. I was surprised when it even worked on my son's bike that had pegs on the front wheels for tricks.

Saving space, not for disc breaks, April 2, 2012

Truly you should look for a other model if you have disc brakes. Besides that it is easy to assemble and our three bikes have a safe stand.
