Product Description:

In 1992, when Jim Parham first wrote Off The Beaten Track: A Guide to Western North Carolina--Pisgah, it was the first trail guide to one of the Southeast's most popular mountain biking destinations. In this 4th revised edition, Parham has yet again expanded and updated his guide to include even more rides. You'll find all the favorites from the older editions, plus the latest trail developments in Pisgah National Forest, Bent Creek, and Dupont State Forest.

Detailed maps, concise ride descriptions, and the user-friendly format that have made OTBT mountain bike guidebooks so popular are all here. So whether you're a beginning mountain biker or a seasoned expert, you'll find plenty of rides to choose from.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  AWESOME guide!, October 4, 2010
By Nicole (New York)
Great reviews, details are good, maps are not to scale, but when you compare them with an actual map, they are pretty darn close. Tons of trails to pick from.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great resource for biking the Pisgah Area!, July 21, 2011
By R. Lowe (Washington, DC United States)
This book along with the NG Trails Illustrated 780 map make biking/navigating around this area pretty easy! Some of the trails are hard to find and with GPS distance issues I missed a few trail turns but just got to see more of the stunning views and excellent riding. Good descriptions and maps. The area division gets a bit confusing, I wished sometimes trails were simply alphabetically listed instead.
