concise, clear book with great maps/photos, December 15, 2008

Bogart has compiled a complete list of routes that are clearly written and concise. Great maps and several have options for longer or shorter routes. He's got both classic rides and some I'd never thought of riding until I read this book. A must have for cyclists, whether you live in the Gorge or are just visiting.

Terrific Resource!, July 27, 2010

This book is a terrific resource for those who like riding their road bike on remote roads in this region. I've been a cyclist for over 20 years going on long rides from home here in Oregon and even I didn't know some of these existed.
The author does a great job of dividing up the rides, showing maps, elevation, even whether they are good for windy days or not (as the Gorge can be very windy). What I think I like best about the book is that it goes beyond just the Columbia River Gorge proper and spreads north towards Mt. Adams, and south towards Mt. Hood to include some fantastic rides.
If you like riding your road bike on remote roads in this beautiful section of the planet, this book will really get your interest up.
