A pamphlet disguised as a book, August 14, 2010

The author tries sooooo hard to stretch this into a book, but there simply isn't enough to say to justify the number of pages. Chapters 1-7 could be summed up in a few well-worded pages. The author goes on forever as to why his method is an improvement over other methods. Then the drills are poorly explained and laid-out. Maybe they work great in a clinic, but not in the form they are presented here. I don't doubt that the author's methods work, but I do doubt his skills in translating these methods into book form.

NEWBIEES, July 2, 2010

I gave it one star because I know when I read reviews I look for the lows and highs...and since there are like 65 highs...Lets go with low. Well 6 months ago I was a new swimmer could barely do 1/2 lap @ 25yards without sinking or sqwaking like a chicken, but at any rate I get this book. Which dont get me wrong is a great study aiddddd. But at the end of the day if your a NEWBIEE what works best for some might not be all, so your going to need a trainer. And if you need a trainer like I did, save your money and get an instructor. If you got money to blow then by all means as this book will make a great addition to any library or even coffee table for that matter!

This book will help you, April 20, 2010

This book really helped after not "swimming" for 30 years. Make sure to get the companion DVD also, as that really helps to get the drills down and see what the stroke should look like. I am amazed how easily I can swim after just a short time with this method.

Better for theory than application., April 15, 2010

I am a new swimmer, with only basic knowledge and technique learned from swimming lessons. I enjoyed the first half of this book because of the theory presented and the author's passion for swimming. The second half of the book I found to be tiring. I only completed the first few workouts because they contained too much drill. I found myself leaving the pool without feeling as if I had accomplished anything. After two weeks I put this book on the shelf and got back to swimming laps.
