About Planet Bike
In November of 1996, Planet Bike was founded in Madison, Wisconsin. In many ways, Planet Bike began as a social experiment that dedicated itself to doing business in a different way. Instead of being just another company that develops and sells products with profit as its end goal, Planet Bike wanted to help bring about positive change for people, their communities, and the environment.

Despite being a simple machine, the people at Planet Bike have always believed that the bicycle has great potential to help improve the world and the lives of the people in it. From the start, they have embraced an alternative corporate purpose which seeks to help get more people on bicycles by making communities friendlier places for the self-propelled. By donating 25% of company profits to causes that promote and facilitate bicycle usage, Planet Bike hopes to make an impact.

Social experiments aside, Planet Bike was born from the heart of a cyclist with a goal of making innovative, high quality, and practical bicycle accessories. Simply put, they strive to design and develop the best bicycle products in the world. In the company's short ten year history, they have made important product innovations within the bicycle industry. Advancements include the 4-line computer which is now a standard in the industry and the world's first self-contained HID light. Not bad for a company that ten years ago started as a one man operation. Today, while still a small company, Planet Bike continues to evolve and improve their product line with the goal of always striving to build accessories that make it easier for people to ride their bikes. Since 1996, Planet Bike's financial support of the grassroots bicycle movement has totaled $500,000. By 2010, they have made a goal to donate $1 million to organizations that are dedicated to making America a friendlier place for cyclists.

5 out of 5 stars.  Highly Recommended, August 30, 2010
Overall, a Great light set.

Pros:
Incredibly bright - bright enough to use as a "seeing" light in addition to a "be seen" light.
Superflash mode gets attention.
Runs on standard (rechargeable) batteries.
Adequate battery life.
Good mount, easy to install and remove.
Good value for the money.

Cons:
Narrow-ish beam. Hard to see from the side. (Other lights have a much wider spread.)
Too bright to use in high pedestrian areas. (This is a street light, for cars. Don't use it on the sidewalk.)

5 out of 5 stars.  well priced and super visible, July 26, 2010
I have been using various Planet Bike lights for the past 6 years and they keep getting better and better. Everyone should have a superflash taillight, they are even really helpful on cloudy or rainy days. I often wish that I had a crap load of money so that I could just buy hundreds of these taillights and then just give them to idiots riding around at night with no lights on. The 1-watt headlight is quite a bit bigger then the previous 5-LED model, which I don't like but it is really bright and it seems to be of a higher quality then the previous models. It still isn't bright enough to use as a light to find your way, but it is an excellent light which allows cars to see you and the superflash setting is very noticeable to cars. Personally I think that these types of "see me" lights should always be in a flashing mode. Also the cam locking mount on the front is the best mount I have seen yet for this kind of application.

5 out of 5 stars.  Excellent for visibility at dusk/dawn, June 13, 2010
Excellent head and taillight combo for drivers to see you when the sun starts setting or is just coming up. They're not going to outshine the serious lights that cost over $100, but these are a great option until you are ready to step up to that quality.

5 out of 5 stars.  Great Commuter Combo, May 9, 2010
I've used several lights in the past for various applications. Princeton Tec Switchbacks are my favorite for off road, but for just going down the street or riding to work early in the morning, this package is pretty good and the quick release on the front light is pretty sweet. It's adjustable for various bar sizes. It provides enough light to be seen by cars and see the road and commuting speeds. If you plan on riding off road or fast, look at something else... probably something costing 3 times as much. However, if you're just looking for something to get you around and keep you safe in the dark, this light is one of the best disposable battery powered models I've seen.

5 out of 5 stars.  Good little combo, May 6, 2010
I got this for my girlfriends bike for those rides that take us into the falling sun. The headlight is pretty bright for its power source and the strobe feature is great. The one button design is easy to use and needs no explaining. Also you can slide the light off the mount and use it like a flashlight.

The tail light is really awesome. It is super bright, even it bright light. The mount goes on nice and easy and the light then slides onto it. I am not totally sold on how the light slides on but so far it is working just fine. I dont think it will be an issue for her but for someone who rides harder might find it popping off. If it fails I will be sure to update this.

I bought the tail light by itself for my bike. I got it after we got hers since I liked it so much. It comes with the mount for the seat post or the seat stay. Also the light has a clip built in that you could clip to your shorts or pack. I have a rack with bag mounted to it. On the rear of the bag it has a little strap that seems like it was made for this light. It works great.
