5 out of 5 stars.  Worth the cost., September 2, 2010
I purchased this modem to replace the nearly decade-old modem I received with my Comcast HIS.

Easy to set up.
Well made.

The reviews stating a obvious speed increase were not joking.

The modems' ability to bond multiple channels (DOCSIS 3) should provide an absurd bandwidth increase on networks that support it, providing you have the proper tier of service. Though, even on a single channel (DOCSIS 2? network) I've noticed a 15-20% increase in downstream and upstream bandwidth has increased even further.

If you're on ComcastHIS you can update the MAC tied to your account by simply connecting it, opening an IE window, entering your HIS account number into the Comcast window, then downloading the software and following the prompts. I'm assuming it's ActiveX dependent. (No need to call and all that nonsense if this works as it should.)

5 out of 5 stars.  High Speed Modem, August 31, 2010
This product works great with my Comcast high speed internet. Great download and upload speeds, and online gaming is excellent.

5 out of 5 stars.  SB6120, August 31, 2010
I installed the SB6120 myself and called my cable company gave them my SB6120 MAC ID and while I was on the phone the installation was completed. That was easy, especially since I never had internet service at home before. One note however, My system was Win7 64bit and the SB6120 installation disk supplied was only for Vista, not a problem since I never needed to use it for anything. The speed has been 1.0 gbps (Comcast high speed/6 month intro. promotion) for the last 3 weeks with no problems yet.

5 out of 5 stars.  Great modem - but service from Comcast to help swithc is terrible..., August 29, 2010
Good experience w/this product. I bought it to save money from the monthly rental cable modem fees from Comcast. Seems to be very fast and reliable. Switching over does require you to contact Comcast to register the MAC and S/N. That was a TERRIBLE experience. The tech support must have been off shored in some corner of the earth w/automated drones on the other side. I have a 15 page dialogue that I saved because it was so terrible (and kind of funny to look at now...) Anyway, the modem itself is fantastic. But if you're going to switch w/Comcast as your service provider be prepared to spend at least 120 minutes w/them...

5 out of 5 stars.  Glad to own our own modem, August 27, 2010
This modem is very fast and has so far been very reliable over the course of the month that we have been using it. Cable guy came, made a call, had it set up and got everything working very quickly. It is nice to not have to pay the cable company to rent a modem. If you think about it, this will pay for itself over the long term. Good product, nothing else to say right now. Oh, the LED's look cool :)
