Best of all, the Superflash attaches to almost any bike, with bike mounts and a clip mount included in the package. Offering visibility for up to 1 mile, the Superflash runs for up to 100 hours on two AA batteries (included) and carries a limited lifetime warranty. About Planet Bike In November of 1996, Planet Bike was founded in Madison, Wisconsin. In many ways, Planet Bike began as a social experiment that dedicated itself to doing business in a different way. Instead of being just another company that develops and sells products with profit as its end goal, Planet Bike wanted to help bring about positive change for people, their communities, and the environment. Despite being a simple machine, the people at Planet Bike have always believed that the bicycle has great potential to help improve the world and the lives of the people in it. From the start, they have embraced an alternative corporate purpose which seeks to help get more people on bicycles by making communities friendlier places for the self-propelled. By donating 25% of company profits to causes that promote and facilitate bicycle usage, Planet Bike hopes to make an impact. Social experiments aside, Planet Bike was born from the heart of a cyclist with a goal of making innovative, high quality, and practical bicycle accessories. Simply put, they strive to design and develop the best bicycle products in the world. In the company's short ten year history, they have made important product innovations within the bicycle industry. Advancements include the 4-line computer which is now a standard in the industry and the world's first self-contained HID light. Not bad for a company that ten years ago started as a one man operation. Today, while still a small company, Planet Bike continues to evolve and improve their product line with the goal of always striving to build accessories that make it easier for people to ride their bikes. Since 1996, Planet Bike's financial support of the grassroots bicycle movement has totaled $500,000. By 2010, they have made a goal to donate $1 million to organizations that are dedicated to making America a friendlier place for cyclists.

Best Tail Light Yet, September 1, 2010
|
|
I take after work training rides several evenings a week, and in metro Atlanta a flashing tail light, even when not close to dark, is a great safety feature. Earlier this year my daughter and another rider got about 1/2 mile out in front of the group on a very shady straight road. I saw his light clearly while hers was barely visible. His was the Planet Bike. I ordered 3 when I got home, one for my wife, one for my daughter, and one for me.
The only knock on this light is the on/off switch is less than optimal. It relies on a micro switch that is under a section of the hard plastic lens, and takes some getting used to. My wife still can't operate hers while on the bike. If they fix this Planet Bike may have the perfect bicycle tail light.

I LOVE my Planet Bike Blinky Superflash Tail Light!, August 27, 2010

I LOVE my Planet Bike Blinky Superflash Tail Light! It is INCREDIBLY bright (blinding if you look right at it from close up) and thus I feel a lot safer riding before it gets fully light in the morning and/or as it starts to get dark at the end of the day. This is my 3rd purchase of these lights (and this time around I bought TWO of them just in case)-- nothing wrong with the lights, they last FOREVER-- I just broke one in a crash earlier this year and then had another one pop off the back of my bike when I hit a bump at 40+ mph on a descent and hadn't made sure that the light was fully secure before heading home that day. :-)

Very Bright and long battery life but not waterproof, August 27, 2010

This light must pulse power supply to the LEDs to achieve such great performance. I don't like the emergency vehicle like flashing mode but the super bright solid light mode can't be beat.

All you need, August 24, 2010

Very, very bright. Anything stronger is overkill. In fact, it might already be overkill if you ride with others (it can be frustrating to ride behind someone with it). For a commuter, it's a godsend. Absolutely no way anyone will miss you. Bright enough for day use, too. Seeing as how a cheaper option would not save you much more (this is already very inexpensive), I would not recommend spending less for a cheaper light. Spend the few extra bucks - it's more than worth the difference.

Excellent Strobe Effect., August 21, 2010
|
|
This has a brilliant attention-getting red strobe effect that almost makes it look like there's a fire truck on scene! If you pair it up with a blue bike light, you can make it look like a cop car so people will slow down and watch out for you.
The large LED on top has a good amount of throw for a tail light. The light can be seen pretty well from the sides too. The seat post mount attaches fairly solidly and holds the light firmly.
I wish it had more strobe modes and wasn't quite so pricey, but it's still a great light.
