5 out of 5 stars.  Great study guide for TeXes Special Education EC-12 Exam 161!, August 17, 2010
I used this book mainly to study for the TeXes Special Education EC-12 Exam and I passed with flying colors. I looked at the other books that were meant to prepare me to pass the exam but they had horrible reviews. When I entered a teacher's forum, two people mentioned using this book to study and pass the exam. The only difference that I found is that the book refers to the MDT and CST team in the evaluation process, whereas Texas identifies these teams as the RTI and the ARD team. Everything else is the same. The book was written for anyone to easily comprehend and it also gave samples of important documents that a special education teacher would need to fill out. Wonderful read!

5 out of 5 stars.  GACE test prep, October 1, 2009
I bought this and one other book to study for a teacher certification test after reading that the official GACE study guides weren't preparing other educators to do well on the SpEds test. (I took the general test for 6-12 grade). This book was great; it did exactly what I intended it to do--help me rock the GACE SpEd exam! My scores were excellent. This book has what you need to get the SpEds perspective as an educator.

5 out of 5 stars.  Great for Parent's Too!, October 21, 2008
The Special Education Survival Guide is one of my top reference books, as I assist in developing my child's I.E.P. The book is up to date, and gives a lot of example's and "what-if's." I couldn't do a proper I.E.P. without this valuable resouce.

4 out of 5 stars.  The Special Educator's Survival Guide, February 23, 2006
This book is excellent. It really defines the role and job of a special education teacher. In fact my principal was so impressed with it that he ordered it for all the special education teachers in my building. Another principal also ordered it for her special education teachers.
