Best Water Bottle I've Owned for HOT Climates, August 13, 2010
|
|
I've only had this bottle for a few months now, but it seems almost indestructible. The stainless steel has acquired a few scratches through use, but nothing major, and the insulation keeps my water COLD. I usually drop 2-3 ice cubes in it in the morning, then fill the rest with cold water. I live in South Texas, and this bottle has kept water at refrigeration-like temperatures inside my closed car in the middle of summer for up to four hours or so. Just carrying it around, it'll stay ice cold all day and into the evening. And the outside layer remains comfortable, doesn't sweat, etc.
The drinking mechanism works well for biking, since I don't have to lift the bottle into my line-of-sight to drink through the straw (though the straw can be removed). The loop on the top also protects the bite valve from dust and dirt when closed and provides a handy carrying loop.
As a double-walled bottle, it's a little heavier than the plastic ones, but for hot climates, I've yet to find a water bottle as practical, as effective, or as easy to use as the Camelbak Insulated. When this one fails someday, perhaps far in the future, I'll be going out to buy another...
Additional Nice Features: The bottle opening fits standard water purifiers to be used on the trail, and the hook loop works well with caribiners to hang from daisy chains on packs or other gear. Oh, and the top drinking mechanism (bitevalve, straw, bottle top assembly is machine washable). Efferdent tablets provide a good cheap means of cleaning the inside of the bottle itself.

just what needed, August 6, 2010

this bottle was just what I was looking for! Wide-mouthed (no problem getting ice there), well insulated, good volume. I am not a big fan of plastic drink-through part (I see it wearing out quickly), but that is the only but. Good buy otherwise.

Great Product, July 20, 2010

My 11 year old daughter has been using this for about 9 months to take water to school, sports, and camps. It does a nice job keeping water cold in Southern California for eight hours and up. There are still ice in it at the end of the day. Great design. The top is large enough to put regular ice cubes in. The drink spout is spill proof and easy to use with one hand, the loop gives you something to hook onto and hold so your hands don't get cold. Easy to clean. I clean it every day after school, once a week I soak the top and bite piece in white vinegar to disinfect. I purchased it at a local sporting good store about a year ago and thought it was pricey for a water bottle but it's definitely worth it. I'm going to purchase another one for my son.

I just got this today and had never used one of these before. I was baffled why I couldn't sip out of it...looked up the company website, gave them a call...got to talk to someone pretty quick who was very friendly and professional. Turns out that since these things are mass produced...and there is a machine that scores the plastic mouth piece, my just didn't get scored deep enough. He had me press into it with my finger nail and it popped open. Works like a charm now. I already love it!
