5 out of 5 stars.  Attaches easily and works as described, August 31, 2010
My father-in-law has an adult bike with a lower bar for ease of riding for older people. We needed this for his bike. If you have bike of any size where the bar connecting the seat to the handle bars is angled, then you might need this to mount on a bike rack. If you want to mount it with other bikes at the same time, it is really needed so the bikes can fit correctly. Otherwise mounting a bike alone on a rack when it is angled won't matter.

5 out of 5 stars.  Great help!, August 13, 2010
If you have a traditionally shaped ladies' bike, I highly recommend that you buy this to make it easy to load it onto your bike rack. We use it with an Allen 5 bike rack and it makes it so much easier to get my daughter's bike secured.

3 out of 5 stars.  Gets the job done, August 4, 2010
I have a women's mountain bike and without an adaptor the bike sits practically diagonal on a bike rack. This bar solves that problem. The tension spring inside is very strong, so be careful! I wish the pin lock feature was a little more user-friendly, I find the metal wire that holds the pin gets in the way and the pin sometimes can be tricky for me to set.
Also, like others have mentioned, the picture of the bar on this site is different from what was sent to me. Same brand but doesn't look exactly like the one in the picture they have here. Otherwise it's fine and does the job.

5 out of 5 stars.  Thankful for this product!, August 1, 2010
This product has worked wonders for me. I can now easily put my wife's step-thru bike onto our bike rack and the bike sits perfectly. The bar has performed well and I'm very grateful to Allen for offering this product.

1 out of 5 stars.  You get what you pay for..., July 29, 2010
I bought this thinking that this will help me solve the problem of taking my daughter's bike everywhere (a woman's bike)... Oh boy, was I SO WRONG...

Before I tell you what happened, I do admit that this is a pretty easy set up and it seems sturdy enough - but it all end there.

As it happened, we are going for a cycle ride and I strapped both of our bicycles safely and correctly on the rack and went. Not far from the house, the retainer pin didn't managed to keep hold of the bike thus the quick release pins gave way... the result of the bike's big thump on the road and when you are driving it will not be an option to just stop right away resulting the need to dragged the bike to a safe place to park and sort the problem.

When I stopped and looked at the bar itself, I've found out that the retainer pin just broke in half. THIS IS A DANGEROUS FLAW in the design. Both the retainer and the quick release pins are not sturdy enough to carry the weight of the bike (even though it is a light bike) and I am driving in a pretty safe speed, this does not help with the flaw.

This cause the problem for my daughter's bike and I am so glad that it didn't cause a major accident. This might happen...

LIKE I SAID,THIS IS A FLAW IN THEIR PRODUCT.

I would not be buying this product again. Next time, I would think before I buy cheap stuff as you get what you pay for...
