4 out of 5 stars.  Beautifully printed, but lacks practical "tips and tricks", June 27, 2009
I found this book too brief. It covers very well bicycle parts and their construction, but doesn't provide many practical "tips and tricks" which you may need for your repair. I guess, it tries to squeeze too much into the small volume. With respect to photographs and design it is very-well done!

1 out of 5 stars.  Tell me the What, but don't tell me the How, May 21, 2008
It's nice to see that Mr. Sidwells has so many friends to write down glowing reviews for his book.

As a prior reviewer stated, this book will only tell you the What, not the How. You need the How or you're going nowhere.

Save your money and go on Youtube; there are qualified people who have created video tutorials during their lunch break that will answer your questions.

This book is going in the recycle bin as we speak.
